Food & Agriculture

There is a need to act on the growing relationship of food production and its impact on carbon, moving to new farming approaches and soil regeneration. As a rural town this is a critical element of our area and the health and well being of the community.

Our focus is at a local level to encourage people to change their eating habits by moving towards a more plant-based diet. To purchase food that’s organically grown locally, on a seasonal basis, which is fresher and requires limited transportation. We will encourage people to use local markets rather than the  supermarkets where the produce is over packaged.

We are also  proud of our partnership with Farmers for Climate Solutions.
